CWU CEO/PRESIDENT BETH BABCOCK PROVIDES TESTIMONY TO U.S. HOUSE COMMITTEE ON AGRICULTURE

The subject of the hearing is the “Past, Present, and Future of SNAP,” focusing on the means to climb the economic ladder. CWU was asked to share information on how our model assists low-income families navigate the complex pathway out of poverty, as well as the importance of providing comprehensive workforce development programs for SNAP (food stamps) recipients.

Close to Home: Reflections on Poverty, Perseverance and Promise

A Crittenton Women's Union installation and event, hosted by Boston City Hall. Initiated in October 2013 with Michael Patrick MacDonald, the award-winning and NY Times best-selling author of All Souls: A Family Story from Southie and Easter Rising: A Memoir of Roots and Rebellion, the "Close to Home" project has been a cathartic and powerful exercise in crafting memoirs for social justice.

Crittenton Women's Union Names Mary D. Coleman, PhD Chief Operating Officer

Boston, MA – (May 26, 2015) - Crittenton Women’s Union (CWU), a Boston-based nonprofit innovator in helping low-income women and their families become economically self-sufficient, has named Mary D. Coleman, PhD as its new Chief Operating Officer. Dr. Coleman will provide oversight and development to all programmatic divisions of CWU and organization-wide operational leadership.
