How Your Donation Helps

What your donation can do

Here are some of the ways your gifts both great and small will be used to support low-income women and families on their journey to self-sufficiency:

  • Safe Housing and Caring Supports:  A gift of $10,000 will help provide housing and holistic case management services for a homeless mother and child for three months.
  • Education and Training Programs: A gift of $5,000 will enable two participants to graduate from our intensive 12-week Woman to Woman program, helping women gain the skills to successfully enter the workforce and become self-sufficient.
  • Program Innovations: A gift of $2,500 will provide a series of computer training sessions for our clients, enabling them to "blog" about their challenges and triumphs as they move toward economic independence, as well as gain the computer skills necessary to enter the workforce in a "Hot Job."
  • Advocacy Training to Create Change A gift of $1,000 will support curriculum upgrades so that staff can train our clients in advocacy skills, giving them the leadership training needed to advocate on their own behalf and directly impact on public policy.
  • Safe Shelter and Counseling: A gift of $500 will provide a week of shelter, food and counseling for a family of three living in one of our shelters.
  • Early Literacy: A gift of $250 will cover the annual costs of books and toys for a family enrolled in our Early Literacy program, helping new generations develop the skills needed to excel in school and have a successful future.
  • Educational Enhancement: A gift of $100 will provide support for students in our GED program to learn about and use new, web-based tools that will move them along the path to economic independence.
