Woman to Woman
EMI’s Woman to Woman (WTW) program offers computer training, career development, and life skills training to low-income women entering or returning to the workforce. The no-cost, 8-week program is designed to put students on a course to higher education or a career that will lead to economic self-sufficiency.
How it works
At the start of each 8-week session, participants meet with a case manager, a higher education specialist, and a career counselor to identify a career goal and prepare a personal strategic plan to achieve it. In daily classes, participants receive computer training in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and learn how to use the Web. They also attend workshops that cover communication and organizational skills, time and stress management, financial literacy, interviewing and resume-building, office culture, and dressing for success.
Who should apply
