Food Services
Crittenton Women’s Union provides a residential meals program for its congregate housing sites in Brighton and Allston and conducts a for-profit food business delivering more than 1,000 meals a day. CWU’s for-profit food services contributes revenues that help fund CWU’s direct services, research and advocacy.
Both CWU’s residential meals program and its for-profit food services operate out of CWU’s Brighton facility. The Food Services Department serves two meals a day to approximately 130 CWU shelter guests.
CWU’s for-profit food service prepares and serves 200 home-delivered meals to the elderly, delivers 500 kosher lunches to Jewish community housing residents, and supplies breakfast, lunch and a snack to nearly 200 Head Start children.
In operation since 1990, CWU’s food service enterprise is equipped to accommodate special dietary needs and offers a variety of ethnic food choices as well as vegetarian meals.
